Conference Registration and Charges

Instructions on how to register for the conference are given in the next section. A list of fees and charges is also provided further down the page.

Registration

To register for the conference please follow the link to the registration page on the KES Membership Portal which can be accessed ..here..

- You must be signed in to the KES Portal to register for the conference.

- If you are not already a KES member please sign up for KES membership, which will qualify for the KES member early reduced registration rates, then sign in.

You can also check whether you are already registered as a KES member.

- Please ensure that in addition to signing up for the KES Portal you also register for the conference.

Payment by Credit Card

The registration system includes an online credit card processing system to take payment while you wait. We strongly recommend that delegates pay by credit card to guarantee they receive the early registration rate.

We will send you confirmation by email when we have received and checked your payment, and your registration is complete.

Payment by Bank Transfer

Please read the following instructions if you intend to make payment by bank transfer.

- You cannot pay by bank transfer after the early registration deadline.

- If you are concerned about securing a student registration place we recommend that you pay by credit card.

- Payment by bank transfer can take some time and we must receive payment before we can give you a student place.

- If you wish to make a payment by bank transfer, register through the online system, an select the "Bill Me" payment option. The email you receive from the registration system will contain an Order Number and instructions about making payment to our bank.

- You must ensure that the ORDER NUMBER appears in the PAYMENT REFERENCE field of the bank transfer form. Please also ensure that the FROM field contains the DELEGATE NAME.

- Please ensure that you pay any charges you bank may charge. If we do not receive the full amount due before the early registration deadline the full late rate may become payable.

- We will send you confirmation by email when we have received your payment and your registration is complete.

Fees and Charges

Full Registration

Registration includes attendance at the event, a paper in the proceedings published by Springer, and in addition, a year's KES Silver membership that brings discounted rates at future KES events. This represents a great package!

Full registration is an inclusive rate comprising:-

  • Attendance at the conference
  • Morning and afternoon tea and coffee each day
  • Lunch each day
  • One ticket for the welcome social event
  • Publication of one paper in the conference proceedings (conforming to the published conditions concerning submission, length and deadlines)
  • A ticket for the conference dinner
  • A copy of the conference proceedings (on CDROM, although we may substitute hard copy at our option)
  • KES Silver mambership for one year from the date of the conference.

Early Full Registration Fee (By Early Deadline):
495 Euros for KES Bronze or Non Members
450 Euros for KES Silver Members

Early Full Registration Fee (AFTER Early Deadline):
560 Euros for all registrants

Student Registration

Student registration is available to those providing a letter on headed note-paper from their University signed by their Head of Department/School confirming that they are a student on a programme of research. There is a limited number of student registration places. After these places are taken students must register at the Full rate.

Student registration comprises:-

375 Euros for KES Bronze or Non Members
325 Euros for KES Silver Members

Early Student Registration (AFTER Early Deadline):
560 Euros for all registrants

Work in Progress Workshop Registration

Those registering for the Work in Progress Workshop may book for a special one-day rate.

This includes:-
  • Attendance on the day the Workshop (5 September 2012).
  • Teas and coffees, and lunch
  • The opportunity to attend the keynote talks on the day of the workshop
  • Presentation of the work as a poster (short oral presentation may be possible subject to time being available
  • Publication of the paper on the KOALA KES Open Access Library

This rate does not include publication of a paper in the Springer proceedings or a copy of the proceedings.

Workshop authors may also purchase a ticket for the conference dinner to be held on the evening of 4 September 2012.

Alternatively, authors may choose registration for the full two-day conference if they wish. They will also need to do this if they wish to submit a paper for publication in the Springer proceedings.

Work in Progress Workshop Registration (By Early Deadline):
250 Euros for KES Bronze or Non-members
200 Euros for KES Silver Members

Work in Progress Workshop Registration (AFTER Early Deadline):
300 Euros for all registrants

REQUEST Workshop Registration

For information on the REQUEST (Renovation through quality supply chains and energy performance certification standards) workshop see .. here ..

Those registering for the REQUEST Workshop may book for a special one-day rate.

This includes:-
  • Attendance on the day the Workshop (5 September 2012).
  • Teas and coffees, and lunch
  • Presentation of the work in a format to be agreed with the organisers
  • Publication of the paper on the KOALA KES Open Access Library (if provided in an appropriate format).

This rate does not include publication of a paper in the Springer proceedings or a copy of the proceedings.

Workshop authors may also purchase a ticket for the conference dinner to be held on the evening of 4 September 2012.

Alternatively, authors may choose registration for the full two-day conference if they wish. They will also need to do this if they wish to submit a paper for publication in the Springer proceedings.

REQUEST Workshop Registration (By 24 July 2012):
250 Euros for all delegates
REQUEST Workshop Registration (AFTER 24 July 2012):
300 Euros for all delegates

Extra Charges

There will be additional charges for the following items:-

  • A hard copy of the printed published proceedings:

  • Additional page charge for papers longer than 10 pages:
    55 Euros per page
  • Additional ticket for the conference banquet (one ticket included in Full Registration):
    70 Euros
  • Publication of each additional paper in the Springer proceedings (one paper included in registration fee):
    195 Euros

Accompanying Person Registration

An "Accompanying Person" is someone who accompanies a full delegate but takes no part in the conference. An example is the wife or husband of an author. The following conditions apply:-

  • An accompanying person must register with a Full or Student delegate (ie they may not attend the symposium alone).
  • The Accompanying Person registration provides morning and afternoon teas/coffees, and lunch each day.
  • It does not allow entry to any conference sessions or talks, or a published paper, or a set of proceedings.
  • Under no circumstances may authors or co-authors of conference papers register as accompanying persons.

Accompanying Person Registration:
90 Euros

Invited Sessions Chairs Registration

Where an invited session attracts 5 or more paid registrations (excluding the IS chair themself), if all 5 authors plus the IS chair attend the conference and present at the session, the IS chair may claim free registration at the next conference during the subsequent year. For example, a chair who gets 5 paid registrations at the SEB2012 conference can claim free registration at the SEB2013 conference.

The registrations must be full or student registrations, not additional papers or free registrations awarded for other reasons.

Authors' Registration

Any paper that does not have at least one author who has registered for the conference and paid by the Authors Registration Deadline will be withdrawn from the proceedings.
